Reel Obsession Sportfishing specializes in a variety of fishing trips, targeting species such as salmon, rockfish, lingcod, dungeness crab, albacore tuna, and bluefin tuna. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best chinook salmon, a monstrous lingcod, or a delicious bluefin tuna of your dreams, Captain Ty has the expertise and equipment to make it happen. Our trips include all necessary gear, bait, ice for your catch, and filleting services if desired. We also head out for crab trips to load up on dungeness crabs and do combo trips as well!

Our fishing trips take place aboard Dragonfly, a 2005 Parker 28′ Sport Cabin powered by twin Yamaha 250hp engines. With an overall length of 33′ and a beam of 9′ 6″, Dragonfly is both stable and comfortable. The boat features a dry cabin, a working head, ample deck space, and top-of-the-line safety equipment, including a life raft and e-pirb. From April to June, Dragonfly operates out of Richmond, and from July to December, it runs out of Bodega Bay.

Dragonfly is equipped with high-quality fishing gear to ensure a successful and enjoyable fishing trip. Our equipment includes Cannon Optimum 10 downriggers, a large bait well, Furuno and Simrad electronics, custom Seeker downrigger rods, Shimano Trevala jigging rods, and Avet reels (available in both right and left-handed models). We also offer a variety of light tackle spinning gear, lures, jigs, and bait to suit your fishing needs.

Contact Us for more information regarding combo trips out of Bodega Bay. Our main combo trips include rockfish and crab once crab season opens up on the first Saturday of November. If the bluefin tuna happen to be running, we can accommodate for bluefin and crab combo trips! Please feel free to reach out around the end of the year to book your combo trip.
