Captain Ty, born in Mendocino Ca, has been fishing the North Coast for more than 20 years. Having spent the past 15 or so years living in Sonoma County, anyone that knows him would agree that the name Reel Obsession Sportfishing is well suited as fishing truly is an obsession for him. It was inevitable that eventually he would find a way to turn his passion for fishing into a way to make a living. The goal with Reel Obsession Sportfishing is to provide a one of a kind experience: offering custom trips out of Bodega Bay and on the SF Bay, whether you're looking for a meat run to fill the freezer, or the chance of a lifetime to target California King Salmon or Albacore Tuna we will have a trip for you.

Fishing Trips
Reel Obsession Sportfishing specializes in salmon, sturgeon, rock fish, lingcod, dungeness crab, albacore tuna and halibut fishing trips in Northern California. Whether you're interested in catching that personal best chinook salmon, a monster ling cod, some tasty halibut, or the white sturgeon of your dreams, Captain Ty has you covered.
Trips include all gear, bait, pack ice for your catch and fillet of your catch if desired.
The Boat
Offering fishing trips for up to six people is no problem aboard Dragonfly, a 2005 Parker 28' Sport Cabin powered by twin Yamaha 250hp engines. Dragonfly is quite stable and comfortable, she has an overall length of 33' and the beam is 9' 6" She has a cabin to stay dry, working head, plenty of deck space and is equipped with top of the line safety equipment including a life raft and e-pirb.
Dragonfly currently runs out of Richmond (April-June) and Bodega Bay (July-December)
The Gear
Dragonfly is fully equipped with quality fishing gear.
Cannon Optimum 10 downriggers, large bait well, Furuno and Simrad electronics, custom Seeker downrigger rods, Shimano Trevala jigging rods, Avet reels (right and left handed) a variety of light tackle spinning gear, lures, jigs, bait, etc.
STURGEON
One of the toughest fish to catch, Captain Ty has cracked the code. If you're looking to land your very own "dino," he's scoped out the best spots all over the Bay and Delta. Give him a call to land the fish of your dreams.

SALMON
The proverbial "king" of Northern California sport fish, chinook salmon are second to none. Captain Ty is sure to get you on some chrome.
ROCK FISH
When it come to "filling the freezer" you just can't beat rock fish. From Point Reyes to Salt Point, Captain Ty knows where to find quality rockfish and lingcod. He also offers rock fish / crab combo trips
HALIBUT
Whether you're into California Halibut or Pacific Halibut, Captain Ty is down. He'll get you on the California Halibut anywhere from the San Francisco Bay to Tomales Bay, or the big boys from Shelter Cove on up.
